While Defence continues to issue a steady stream of infrastructure upgrade RFTs, its worth looking a little deeper to find one that suits your particular expertise. This week we focus on two RFTs that require the upgrade of water supply and treatment systems and infrastructure. The first is a complete upgrade of the water treatment plant and backwash system at Puckpunyal. This includes an upgrade of all switching and dosing components and replacement of the main control panel.
The second RFT is an upgrade to the water supply infrastructure at RAAF Base Richmond in NSW and is more a refurbishment of the supporting infrastructure, pipelines, storage tanks etc as opposed to the water treatment system itself.
Both procurements are holding on site industry briefs, which while not mandatory are always recommended particularly if you are not already familiar with the site. Defence also requires a Confidentiality Agreement to be signed prior to releasing the detailed scope documentation and it would be worth obtaining these documents and reviewing them prior to attending the briefing.
These procurements come under the rolling Defence Estate Works program, and you can find a more detailed write up on preparing for these types of bids here.
