This Week’s Highlight: Event organiser needed for EV fast charger launches

The NSW Office of Energy and Climate Change seeks suitably qualified organisations to provide project development and deliver events to celebrate and promote the launch of electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations.

As part of the Electric Vehicle Strategy, the events will run throughout the 2022/23 and 2023/24 financial years. The NSW government is committed to acting on climate change while continuing to grow the economy. The net zero emissions by 2050 plan aims to create new jobs, reduce household costs, and attract investment to NSW

As part of this plan, in June 2021, the NSW government launched the NSW Electric Vehicle Strategy to make NSW the most accessible and most affordable place to buy and operate an EV in Australia. The NSW government will invest $633 million worth of initiatives over the next four years to deliver on the strategy’s commitments. The Request for Tender (RFT) is for the design and delivery of events that articulate the positive benefits of ultra-rapid charging infrastructure. It expects the successful Service Provider to tailor the events to suit the specific needs of the local community and all stakeholders affected by, or interested in, the installation of the fast-charging station.

The events should express a sense of occasion, including high-profile ribbon-cutting, charging demonstrations, and educational components. Events must be family-friendly and highly accessible.

Engaging interested stakeholders and leveraging their networks will be key to the success of this project. As such, it is important that the successful Service Provider has an in-depth understanding of the emerging EV industry.

The Office will consider joint applications where consortiums seek to jointly deliver the project.

As we head into the holiday season, it is important to note that NSW Treasury Offices close from 4pm 23 December 2022 and reopen on Monday 9 January 2023. Interested Service Providers must raise any queries related to this RFT with the Contact Officer before Monday 19 December 2022 for them to be addressed before Christmas Closedown. Treasury will address queries raised after 19 December 2022 upon reopening.

The closing date for tenders is 23 January 2023 at 5pm.
