The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)’s Smartraveller Website provides official overseas travel advice, aimed at informing the Australian public about risks and how to handle difficulties abroad. The website outlines current travel advice levels for more than 170 destinations worldwide, updating this advice in response to international developments. These advice levels for destinations include:
- Exercise normal safety precautions.
- Exercise a high degree of caution.
- Reconsider your need to travel.
- Do not travel.
Smartraveller also creates maps that highlight these safety ratings. Through an Approach to Market (ATM), DFAT is seeking a provider to create digital maps that display Smartraveller’s safety advice for different regions. This provider will be responsible for maintaining, updating, and delivering static country and regional maps for the Smartraveller website within specified delivery timeframes. DFAT requires a supplier available 24/7 to receive communication and update maps.
DFAT’s timeframes for map delivery are as follows:
- Category 1 – Crisis: Delivery within 3 hours of request being sent.
- Category 2 – Urgent: Delivery within 24 hours of request being sent.
- Category 3 – Standard: Request actioned within 3-5 days of request being sent.
Additionally, the provider must produce monthly reporting of work performed, along with performance metrics against the required delivery times.
The closing time and date for responses will remain open until the 29 May 2024.
