The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is seeking a service provider to deliver mentoring and wellbeing services to support veterans as they transition into Australian Public Service (APS) careers through the VetPaths program.
VetPaths is a six-month structured pathway designed to support veterans who gain APS employment within a participating agency. For 2025, participating agencies include the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (lead agency), Services Australia, the Department of Defence, and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Through the pillars of Development, Connection, and Wellness, participants will receive a combination of formal learning, career mentoring, and wellbeing activities. This tender specifically seeks providers to deliver the Connection and Wellness pillars.
The Connection pillar will involve:
-
matching veterans with experienced APS mentors
-
facilitating group mentoring workshops
-
delivering paired coaching sessions to support learning and career development
The Wellness pillar will involve:
-
three group workshops focusing on resilience, identity transition, and mental wellbeing
-
tools and psychological support to manage the unique challenges of transitioning from military to public service
There will be at least one VetPaths cohort in 2025, commencing around September, with the potential for a second. Workshops will be delivered in a hybrid format, with some face-to-face sessions to be held in Canberra and others delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams. The service provider will also be responsible for program coordination, reporting, evaluations, and monthly updates to the Department.
The closing time and date for responses will remain open until the 15th of April 2024.
