The Department of Industry, Science and Resources plays a critical role in driving innovation, fostering economic growth, and preparing Australia for emerging opportunities in science and technology. Its initiatives aim to support workforce development, promote STEM education, and position Australia as a leader in cutting-edge industries such as space exploration and advanced manufacturing.
The Department is seeking a provider to deliver the National Space and Technology Education Program (NSTEP) via a Request for Tender. The program is designed to engage 10,000 primary school students across 150 schools nationwide, with a focus on regional, rural, and low socio-economic communities. NSTEP aims to provide hands-on learning experiences and professional development for educators, aligning with the Australian Space Skills Taxonomy to inspire the next generation of innovators and prepare them for future careers in the space sector.
The successful tenderer will need to design a comprehensive and accessible program, combining practical learning activities with digital components to meet participation metrics. This includes ensuring 40% of schools are from underserved areas, delivering training for educators to sustain STEM education, and aligning learning outcomes with national curriculum objectives. Proposals must also address detailed reporting requirements, compliance with child safety standards, and robust risk management plans to ensure program success.
Tenders will be assessed on technical capability, capacity to meet program goals, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation. Social impact considerations, such as engaging Indigenous communities and supporting regional development, will also be factored into the evaluation.
There will be an Industry Briefing held online on the 19th of November 2024.
The closing time and date for responses will remain open until the 16th of December 2024.
