Transport NSW (TfNSW) manages more than 300 commuter car parks across the state. It initiated a Park & Ride program in 2018 to free up more spaces at these commuter car parks for people using public transport. The program allows commuters to park for free when they catch public transport. TfNSW currently operates 23 Park & Ride car parks and is keen to add more to the program. Located close to public transport hubs, Park & Ride car parks help travellers connect more easily to train, bus, and ferry services. Park & Ride provides up to 18 hours’ free parking each day.
TfNSW’s Request for Proposal (RFT) for Car Park Management Systems seeks suitable applicants to:
· supply, install and commission car parking management systems for several Park & Ride car parks within NSW (with the possible addition of future car parks)
· operate and maintain equipment and management systems for the Park & Ride car parks (with the possible addition of future car parks)
· develop and deliver new car-park technology including software and hardware and integration and continuous improvement in technology.
Tenders will need to demonstrate previous experience in operating and maintaining a large number of car parks and show that they have the requisite resources to service and manage carparks across a large geographical spread. Also to meet the requirement for new technology, tenderers will need to demonstrate their ability to undertake software and hardware integration.
TfNSW anticipates adding and upgrading several locations at a later date during the contract and is trialling Park & Ride Prebooked at selected car parks, allowing commuters to reserve a parking spot.
The closing time and date for responses is 5pm on 18 September 2023.
