This Week’s Highlight: NSW Educational Supplies Procurement Panel

The New South Wales Government’s Department of Education (DOE) has a requirement to support schools, teachers, and students with tools and resources that support positive educational outcomes. The DOE’ s vision is to ensure that students across the state have access to the same high-quality educational resources.

The DOE oversees approximately 2,200 sites, including corporate offices, and manages around 820,000 student enrolments.

Through a Request for Tender (RFT), the DOE is seeking to procure a panel of providers to supply a diverse range of educational resources and materials to meet various needs. This contract will replace the current standing offer arrangement for educational resources, made up of 16 panel contractors which is due to expire 31 December 2024.

The contract has been broken down into the following categories (lots), and tenderers can apply for one or multiple lots:

  • Lot A: Arts and Crafts Supplies – including arts & crafts paper and cards, art books, paint and paint accessories, visual art diaries, and more.
  • Lot B: Music Supplies – including classroom instruments, instrument packages, music accessories, etc.
  • Lot C: Classroom Supplies – including book bags, classroom laminators and accessories, exercise books, markers, etc.
  • Lot D: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths – including 3D printers, Aeroponics, internet of things tools, robotics, etc.
  • Lot E: Sports Supplies – including active play equipment, Athletics equipment, Fitness equipment, etc.
  • Lot F: Science Supplies – including, barometers, beakers, Bunsen burners, litmus paper, science classroom chemicals, etc.
  • Lot G: Multimodal Texts – including book related services, charts and posters, dictionaries and maps, textbooks, etc.
  • Lot H: Visual and Hearing Learning Aids – including items that support the delivery of education to, and or by, those with visual and/or hearing impairments.

Deliverable for this contract include:

  • A range of products that are: suitable for the categories (lots), fit for use in NSW schools, and compliant with relevant safety standards
  • Delivery of goods to any DOE site across NSW
  • Engagement with the DOE
  • Collaboration with the DOE to advance key social objectives

There will be an industry briefing on the 21st of August which will be hosted on Microsoft teams online.

Tenderers will be evaluated on their aboriginal participation, SME and local participation, sustainability, experience and capacity, capability and key personnel, methodology and delivery approach, and price.

The closing time and date for responses will remain open until the 18th of September 2024.
