The Defence Estate Works Program is a rolling upgrade program of Defence facilities nationwide. The program seeks to restore or sustain facilities capability and address safety and compliance requirements and ranges from minor works to major redevelopment projects. To assist industry and Defence collaboration, a new event Collab X is being presented by Consult Australia and the Department of Defence’s Infrastructure Division, Estate and Infrastructure Group. It plans to be a collaborative exchange of ideas between the Department of Defence’s Infrastructure Division and industry partners and represents an opportunity for Infrastructure Division and industry to collaboratively exchange ideas. Infrastructure Division leaders, such as Deputy Secretary Estate and Infrastructure Group, will outline the challenges and opportunities they face while industry leaders will provide their perspectives on working with Defence, and opportunities to innovate.
Defence’s Infrastructure Division is responsible for strategic estate planning, major capital works, environmental and engineering policy, and property management including leasing, land acquisition and divestment and is the agency responsible for issuing Defence estate related Requests for Tender. They operate a continuous program of work in every state with new opportunities released every week. Infrastructure is considered a ‘critical enabler’ to Defence realising Australia’s capability needs and forms part of a $279 billion investment program over the next twenty years.
It is important to note that Defence estate works have particular requirements, so if this an area of interest for you company, it is worth having a look at this post for further information, or contacting us for a chat. To obtain further information, or to register for Collab X click here:
