The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is Australia’s national statistical agency, providing official statistics on a wide range of economic, social, population and environmental matters. One of its most notable activities is the five yearly Census, which saw the introduction of an online option in 2016. With the next census just under three years away, the ABS is approaching the market with two opportunities – a Census Digital Service Provider and the provision of Temporary Workforce Sourcing Services.
2021 Census Digital Service: The ABS is seeking submissions for the development, hosting and support of the 2021 Census Digital Service which is to include:
– A responsive web application designed for mobile and desktop PC use
– An online form designed to be accessible, secure and scalable
– User services including “Contact Us”, “Request a Paper Form” and other services
– The primary Census web site for participants in the Census
– Outbound communications to users through email and SMS
– A secure, efficient and scalable cloud hosting solution.
This contract will be for an intial period of three years and four months with potential to extend for a further two years. An industry briefing was held on the 26 Sep, however an additional briefing is being held on 4 October in Canberra. Note that detailed tendering documentation is being released subject to the provision of a Deed of Confidentiality. The RFT closes 29 October 18.
2021 Census Temporary Workforce Sourcing Services: The ABS is seeking a provider to manage the attraction, referral, candidate management and assessment for an estimated 19,000 census resources in urban and regional catchment areas of Australia. This will also include the management of pre-employment screening and employment Contract Management for an estimated 30,000 Census resources across all parts of Australia as well as reporting and analytics on a range of candidate metrics and management information.
The Services are to be provided over the period February 2019 to December 2021 under a three year contract with potential for extension for a further two years. This RFT closes 8 November 18.
