The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has been established to improve digital and ICT capability across the Commonwealth Government. To enable this, DTA has set out to establish a “Digital Marketplace” of service providers across a range of categories (Software, hardware telecommunications etc) to enable government to access pre-qualified digital sellers more efficiently and to provide greater opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to offer their services. As categories evolve and marketplace needs change, new opportunities emerge for new suppliers to be considered for these panels.
This week DTA has released 2 RFTs opportunuties to refresh existing panels: Hardware and Software Marketplaces
Hardware Marketplace: In June 2018 DTA issued an approach to market to establish the Hardware Marketplace. The Hardware Marketplace allows a broad range of Australian Government and other approved entities to purchase certain hardware products and services. The Hardware Marketplace is divided into different categories of Offerings and a separate panel of suppliers has been established for each Category. A new opportunity exists for new sellers to join:
– Category 4 – End User Computing
– Category 5 – Enterprise Computing
Note that if you are already an approved seller against category 4 and 5, you do not need to reapply. Additionally new categories have been added, for the creation of a new panel of suppliers against the following categories:
– Category 6 – Video Collaboration System Devices and Services
– Category 7 – Mobile Phone and Smart Devices
Software Marketplace: Similar to the Hardware Marketplace, the Software Marketplace was established in February 2018 and currently represents to categories of supply: Category 1 – Microsoft Licensing Solutions and Category 2 – COTS Software. This opportunity is inviting potential new sellers to apply to join:
– Category 2: Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) Software and/or related services
This RFT is an opportunity for Tenderers who are not currently on the Panel for Category 2 – COTS Software and wish to be considered for appointment to the Panel. Existing Sellers are not required to submit a Tender.
DTA is conducting this RFT as a cooperative procurement as a Whole of Government effort and as such Buyers will include a broad range of Commonwealth, State and Territory bodies. The closing date for both RFTs is 25th August 2020, with an expected commencement date December 2020.
