This week the Department of Parliamentary Services has issued a RFT for a Trade and Services Panel. This panel is calling for tenders from across a very wide range of trades which includes: carpentry, civil works, electrical works, horticulture and landscaping, metal fabrication, paving, lighting, tiling, stone masonry, water proofing and various others. There is also scope for this list to be expanded in the future which provides opportunities for companies looking to expand their services over the next couple of years. This RFT also offers a great opportunity for first time government bidders, in that panel responses are not as onerous and time consuming as exclusive RFTs and assuming you can demonstrate the required capability the chances of success are fairly high.
This requirement seeks Tenderers who can supply at least one required service at a high level of quality and availability that suits parliamentary sitting times. It is important that you review parliament’s sitting schedules to gain an understanding of potential work times and address this in your response.
As with all panels, this is never a guarantee of work, however it is a great opportunity to gain visibility with government and is usually a good stepping stone to future tenders.
