The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has been established to help government improve digital services to make them simple, clear and fast. For buyers of digital services, the DTA has established online ‘Marketplaces’ for Hardware, Software, Cloud, Telecommunications and broader Digital Labour hire type requirements. For Suppliers of these services, the Marketplaces are Standing Offer Deeds with pre-approved Conditions and payment terms that allow buyers to issue Request for Quotes and place orders for goods and services in a relatively efficient way. While all of these Marketplaces are now established, the DTA issues opportunities for refresh to allow new suppliers to apply, which can be either for specific categories only or a complete refresh of all categories under that marketplace.
This week we look at the full refresh of the The Hardware Marketplace that allows a broad range of Australian Government and other approved entities to purchase certain hardware products and services. Suppliers are being invited to apply against any of the categories listed below:
- Category 1 – Enterprise Storage
- Category 2 – Network Equipment
- Category 3 – Data Cabling Services
- Category 4 – End User Computing
- Category 5 – Enterprise Computing
- Category 6 – Video Collaboration Systems
- Category 7 – Mobile Phones and Smart Devices.
Note there are further sub categories under each of these that allows you to further refine your offering, however you must be able to comply against the full sub category. DTA is also seeking to establish a pricing regime which guarantees minimum discounts off list or recommended retail prices and caps the price of the Offerings for the term of the agreement. You can select any number of categories and sub categories for your submission.
If you are already an existing panelist, then you do not need to reapply for any categories, however you do need to provide a full submission for new categories you wish to be considered for. The intention is to re-open each Category on the Hardware Marketplace annually to allow submissions of new applications, so if you don’t feel your company can provide a compliant response in this round, you can work towards then next release. This Request for Tender closes 26th August 2021, with evaluations planned for completion by Dec 2021 and Head Agreements established by January next year.
