Defence estate is considered one of the largest real estate portfolios in Australia, with a vast and varied array of infrastructure across all states and territories supporting over 90,000 Defence personnel. To assist in the management of this portfolio, Defence engages a number of consultant agencies through the Defence Infrastructure Panel. The current panel is due to expire 1 June 2022, as such this week we look at the latest release of opportunities to join the Panel for 2022 – 2027.
Panel categories are split into individual Requests for Tender (RFT) which are being released in three Tranches. This week sees another 3 RFTs released under Tranche 3 as follows:
•Estate Strategic Planning – selection of up to 10 Panel Consultants;
•Urban, Architectural & Commercial Interior Design Services – selection of up to 5 Panel Consultants; and
•Aeronautical Ground Lighting – selection of up to 5 Panel Consultants.
While most panels are open to an unlimited number of panellists, these panels are being restricted, with maximum numbers noted above. So if you are considering a submission to these panels, you need to be aiming for very high compliance and very low risk responses. Note you can apply for all panels, however individual responses to each RFT must be submitted. Within each category there is an expectation that each tenderer can provide services for the full scope of the category.
This panel agreement will have a Term of 5 years with options to extend for a further 3 years. An industry briefing for these panels will be held at 10.00am on 29 September 2021 via video link and the RFT will close on 22 November 2021.
