The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has been established to improve digital and ICT capability across the Commonwealth Government. To enable this, DTA has set out to establish a “Digital Marketplace” of service providers across a range of categories to enable government to access pre-qualified digital sellers more efficiently and to provide greater opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to offer their services. As requirements in this space are rapidly evolving, industry consultation is often required and sought to ensure feasibility of the final approach to market. This week DTA has issued two new opportunities, one being a Request for Information (RFI) to assist with the establishment of a Cloud Marketplace and the other a Request for Tender
Cloud Marketplace Panel: This opportunity is a RFI on Cloud Services and Cloud Consulting Services, with the scope of work being based on the 2011 US-based National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) definition of Cloud Services: Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service. The existing Cloud Services Panel was established in 2015 and has been refreshed in 2016 and 2018 and is due to expire in March 2020, with the option of a 12 month extension. However, as there are newer cloud based services emerging, DTA has decided that a new Cloud Services Panel is required to capture both the latest market offering and the changing requirements of government. To that end, DTA seeks industry input on a Discussion Paper that details the proposed way forward in order to assist in developing the future procurement requirement. The closing date for this RFI is 13th November 2019, and while there is no direct financial benefit to providing comment, it creates visibility of a company’s capability to the government agency, and provides opportunity to shape the final outcome.
Hardware Marketplace for supply of ICT Hardware, Infrastructure & Associated Services: This opportunity is a RFT seeking new suppliers for the Hardware Marketplace and to give existing suppliers the opportunity to apply for admission to Categories for which they are not already admitted. This refresh is limited to the following categories:
– Category 1: Enterprise Storage
– Category 2: Network Equipment, and
– Category 3: Data Cabling.
A supplier can apply for one or more of the Sub-Categories, but not part of a Sub-Category, and existing panelists do not need to reapply for categories that they are already on the panel for. The Closing date for this RFT is 18th November 2019.
