Australia has had a long standing partnership with the Pacific Islands, particularly when it comes to Defence related aid. Under the Defence Cooperation Program (DCP) the Australian Government will be gifting 21 Guardian Patrol Boats (GPB) to 12 Pacific Island Countries and Timor Leste. These Patrol boats are replacing the existing Pacific Patrol Boats that have been in-service since 1987. In order to support this activity, Defence is seeking Pacific Maritime Training Services for the Patrol boat crews.
The new training contract will provide all of the maritime technical, seamanship, communications and management courses in support of the GPB program. Training will cover technical and non-technical training courses for personnel of different nationalities, ranks and experience, to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and aptitude necessary to safely crew, manage and maintain a GPB. The Contract will also provide for Pastoral Care Services for trainees including travel administration, campus accommodation, all meals, sporting and other facilities, and administrative and 24-hour welfare support on an as required basis.
Note that a Deed of Confidentiality is required to be submitted in order to receive the Ships Information Summary. An Industry Brief will be held on a date to be advised. This RFT closes on 30th June 2020 and Contract execution is expected by end September 2020.
