The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) is established to help government improve nationwide digital services and streamline procurement processes for federal agencies. DTA achieves this through the establishment of ‘Marketplaces’ that seek to engage industry under a Head Agreement and catalogue style rates and services. These Marketplaces are currently established for Software, Telecommunications, Hardware and Cloud. These Marketplaces have been established between two and three years and come up for refresh generally on an annual basis or when the agency determines there is a need for additional categories or participants.
This week we look at the refresh opportunity for the Software Marketplace which allows a broad range of Australian Government and other approved entities to purchase certain software products and associated support and system maintenance services.
The Software Marketplace is divided into the following high level categories:
(a) Category 1 (Microsoft Licensing Solution); and
(b) Category 2 (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Software).
This refresh is only for Category 2 which includes a wide range of Software classes and associated services. In terms of pricing, these Marketplaces seek a pricing regime which guarantees minimum discounts off list or recommended retail prices and caps the price of the Offerings for the term of the agreement. Interested Tenderers may apply for one or more of the Software Classes or Service Classes, but capability must be against the full Software or Service Class.
Note that if were successful in previous refresh or RFT rounds and are already a Seller on the Software Marketplace, then you do not need to re‑apply for admittance to the Class(es) that You are already enrolled in, only apply if you wish to be considered for admittance against an additional class.
Execution of Head Agreements is expected by Feb 2022, this RFT closes 28 September 2021.
