The Department of Environment and Energy is the agency responsible for the Australian government’s policy and programs dedicated to the environment, water, heritage, climate action and reliable and affordable energy – pretty much all the hot topics of the year! As with all other departments large portions of work are outsourced to industry experts either on a project by project basis or as ongoing panels of specialist services.
This week, the Department has released a Request for Tender (RFT) for two new panels: Environmental Business and Consultancy Panel and the Commonwealth Environmental Water Services Panel.
The Environmental Business and Consultancy Panel seeks consultancy, research and analysis services on a range of environment, social, cultural and economic issues. The required capabilities are very broad and range from Data collection, community stakeholder consultation, environmental monitoring to water and air quality assessments. The closing date for this RFT is 28th January 2020.
The Environmental Water Services Panel includes the following categories of service: environmental water monitoring, evaluation and research; environmental water delivery; environmental water governance and portfolio management; economic analysis in the water sector; and environmental analytics and modelling. This RFT closes on 14th February 2020.
For both opportunities the Department intends to establish a panel with a number of service providers to meet the range of services required. The initial period of Contract is three years with optional extensions up to two years. The successful tenderers will be required to ensure any staff utilised in the delivery of services obtain and maintain security clearances to the level required by the Department.
