These days, there is much greater emphasis in protecting heritage property and assets, and rightly so. In most building and construction tenders, heritage will need to be addressed and this covers European, early Australian and Indigenous heritage. This week we look at an opportunity from Defence Housing Australia (DHA) who is seeking an Aboriginal Heritage Consultant. The consultant is required to assist with the advancement of a Development Application and the preparation of the Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP). This work is in support of DHA’s plans to undertake salvage works at the Former Stockton Rifle Range in Fern Bay NSW.
This is part of a larger project where DHA is seeking to develop a site Master Plan (planning proposal) and to lodge a Stage 1 Development application for residential use for the provision of Defence housing. The consultant will carry out works required to prepare an updated Aboriginal Heritage Cultural Heritage and Archaeological Assessment report (ACHR) to accompany the stage 1 DA application and sufficient to lodge an AHIP application to support the development of the site.
The Closing date of the tender is 03 August 2020 and Contract execution is anticipated to be August 2020.
