The requirements for our military are evolving at a rapid pace requiring ongoing research and update to ensure currency and relevance in a frequently changing battlespace. Australian industry plays a key role in informing government on the availability and feasibility of options to acheive this. So this week we take a look at research opportunities issued by the Australian Army Research Centre seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from service providers to undertake paid research on topics that will inform future land force development and modernisation.
This EOI is being undertaken as part of the Australian Army Research Scheme and seeks either articles (4,000 to 6,000 words) or stand-alone papers (up to 20,000 words). Army will facilitate publication of research in the first instance in either the Australian Army Journal or the Army Research Papers Series. Note that this EOI represents the first part of a 2 part procurement process where Service Providers have the opportunity to provide information on the proposed research topics and the relationship to the following Research Questions:
– Question 1: How can land power achieve strategic deterrence in a coalition or selfreliance setting? What are the contributions that land forces can make to enhance Australia’s capacity to deter aggression?
– Question 2: Is the planned rate of implementation for transformational changes to the ADF (force expansion, higher states of preparedness, stronger deterrence, and greater self-reliance) at a pace sufficient for the ADF to respond to further deterioration in the strategic environment?
