This week sees three opportunities issued by the Australian Media and Communications Authority (ACMA) for varying short term service requirements. The ACMA is an independent statutory authority that is responsible for regulating communications and media in Australia. This includes enforcing industry codes and standards, issuing licencing regimes to broadcasters and acting as spectrum regulator. The three Requests For Tender (RFT) currently issued by ACMA seek services in web transformation, spectrum review, and modem performance testing.
ACMA spectrum Band Review: Acting as the spectrum regulator, the ACMA is responsible for spectrum planning, licensing, auctions and trading. Seeking an experienced consultant on spectrum related issues, the ACMA requires the chosen service provider to identify better practice in relation to decisions by spectrum regulators to undertake regulator-initiated spectrum reframing and propose enhancements to support spectrum allocation decision-making. This task is expected to run for 2 months with possible extension. The RFT closes 3 Sep 18.
Web transformation Services: The ACMA is seeking market responses for web transformation services for the design and update of the ACMA website. The objective of transforming the ACMA website is to improve the user experience, making it easier for stakeholders to access ACMA resources, information and content. As a part of a whole of government initiative, the ACMA is required to conform and meet the Digital Service Standard, a set of best practice principles for the design and delivery of government digital services formulated by the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA). This is a six month contract and the RFT closes 31 Aug 18.
Modem Performance testing: The ACMA is seeking a supplier to undertake performance testing of VDSL2 modems and modem/routers used in the supply of fibre to the node (FTTN) and fibre to the building (FTTB) NBN services. There is currently a wide range of makes and models of modems used to connect FTTN/B services and the performance of different modems/routers can affect the overall NBN consumer experience. This contract will run for three months and the RFT closes 7 Sep.
