As the Defence Estate upgrade program continues, this week we see a concentration of work at the Orchard Hills Defence establishment in NSW. The four Requests for Tender (RFT) are varied however they are all due on the 10th Oct 18 and utlise the Defence medium works contracting format. The four RFTs are:
Asbestos Remediation: The scope of this RFT involves the replacement of all asbestos containing material including roof sheeting, capping, flashing, soffits, guttering and downpipes. It also includes replacement and remediation of asbestos and the works are expected to be completed within 32 Weeks after the Award Date.
Refurbishment & Maintenance Works: This RFT requires various refurbishment and maintenance works including replacing flooring, internal and external painting works, ablution renovations, various external and internal repairs to buildings. In addition the scope includes the construction of a 3 vehicle garage, remediation of VESDA systems, replacing UPS units and unblocking perimeter spoon drains. This work is expected to be completed within 32 Weeks after the Award Date.
Electrical Upgrade Works: The scope of works of this project involves the replacement of electrical components including the distribution board, the perimeter lighting, checking the integrity of the earthing system to the buildings and replacing defective components as required and replacement of electrical fittings including light fittings to match existing. This work is expected to be completed within 18 Weeks after the Award Date.
Access Ladder Replacements: This RFT involves the removal and replacement of the roof access ladders to several buildings as they as they have been decommissioned. This includes removal and disposal of 19 existing platforms and ladders which are in poor condition and at end of life and the installation of 19 replacement compliant platforms and ladders. This work is required to be completed within 12 Weeks after the Award Date.
With all of these RFTs, the scopes of works and associated documents are released subject to the submission of a signed Confidentiality Agreement and tenderers must comply with the Building Code 2016. Industry briefs are all being held on the 19th Sep 18 on site at Orchard Hills and while not mandatory are highly recommended to ensure context is taken into account with your tender submission.
