Among our Australian Government Departments and Agencies are several research or scientific based groups that require specialised equipment and/or services. The more common or regular agencies that issue Approaches to Market (ATM) in this space are the Bureau of Meteorology, ANSTO and the CSIRO. However, this week we have Requests for Tender (RFT) from Department of Health, Home Affairs and Environment and Energy all seeking specialised Laboratory equipment or systems.
Laboratory Refrigerators and Freezers. The Department of Health is looking to establish a panel of suppliers that can provide laboratory refrigerators and freezers, including ultra-low freezers. These items will be used by the Therapeutic Goods Administration to support their testing operations and as such must ensure stable temperature storage for both reagents and samples over both short and long timeframes. Suppliers must also provide installation, commissioning and qualification, and maintenance during the warranty period. In terms of evaluation, the Department is placing a high value on a Supplier’s ability to respond to emergency requests, and that the items specified meet the required performance standards. The panel is anticipated to commence April 2020 and run for a two year term. The closing date for this RFT is the 13th March 2020.
Fume Cabinets. The Department of Home Affairs requires the supply and installation of fume cabinets at sites in Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth. The fume cabinets will be utilised by Australian Border Force Officers to ensure their safety whilst identifying substances that cross the border. This RFT is seeking a total of 5 fume hoods to be delivered by 30 June 2020, with the provision of ongoing maintenance for the Contract Term of three years. The closing date for this RFT is the 5th March 2020.
Containerised Aquarium Control System. The Department of Environment & Energy is seeking an aquarium control system for use on the Antarctic Research and Supply Vessel, RSV Nuyina. The Department requires the Aquarium Control System to be supplied, installed and commissioned into one Aquarium Plant Container and two Aquarium Laboratory Containers by the 28th July 2020. Note that final commissioning will be required to be undertaken at sea at a later date within 12 months of delivery. This RFT closes on the 10th March 2020.
